Platespin Migrate 8 – block based agent manual installation

How to install Block based component manually on source server

There are 2 components needed for the install:

  1. PsMonInstall.exe
  2. the psmon driver files – psmon.sys and psmon.inf

PsMonInstall.exe you can download from here

The psmon driver files are found in the 1.package in C:Program FilesPlateSpin Portability Suite ServerPackagesC221392A-D69A-417C-B359-EBEBEFBBFBA0. Copy this 1.package to another location then extract the files. Depending on the OS type (64bit or 32bit) use the inf and sys files needed.

  1. On the server that the driver needs to be installed put the PsMonInstall.exe and driver files psmon.sys and psmon.inf in the same folder
  2. Open a command prompt and run the following:
    PsMonInstall.exe /inf “C:utilsVSSpsmon.inf” /install psmon /add

  • Excellent read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing a little research on that. And he just bought me lunch since I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch! “Too much sanity may be madness. And maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be” by Miguel de Cervantes.

  • Thank you for your website post. Thomas and I happen to be saving for our new e book on this subject matter and your short article has made all of us to save the money. Your thinking really answered all our questions. In fact, more than what we had acknowledged ahead of the time we discovered your superb blog. My partner and i no longer nurture doubts and also a troubled mind because you have attended to each of our needs above. Thanks
