Day #2 @VMworld 2012

Second day was even more intensive than first one. General session was completely about virtual desktops, mobile devices and application virtualization. What was worth to remember is Horizon, complete suite to manage physical and virtual desktops as well as mobile devices and of course – applications – those for mobile devices with iOS or Android and Windows APPS.

Very nice group discussion around implementation of vCloud Director with Chris Colotti, how difficult is to persuade Security Engineers to implement virtual firewalls, virtual networking, lack of books and training dedicated for security specialist.

Second group discussion was about SRM 5.1 and storage metro clusters and use cases. VMware Engineer was explaining specific use cases for SRM 5.1, vSphere 5.1 replication and storage metro-clusters. Was a good session, not the best ever but good one, maybe because I know quite few things about SRM and storage metro-clusters.

Visited booth’s ZERTO, VEEAM, EMC, APPSense, VMTurbo.

Looking forward for a third day @VMworld.
