In case you missed blog posts from my blogger fellow Chris or simply overlooked this information, General Support Phase for VMware vSphere 4.X is ending on 21’st may 2014. Which means no more new security patches, new bug fixes, new hardware support. Nevertheless VMware will provide support for vSphere 4.X:

  • existing patches and bug fixes will be available
  • file support request – WEB only

But still you have 2 years to migrate out of vSphere 4.X until it gets completely out of the any support. This is the last call for you to plan migration out of the vSphere 4.X otherwise you might end up with unsupported platform in production environment.
