What’s new in Nutanix Life Cycle Management 1.4

Using Nutanix Life Cycle management tool you can perform and track upgrades of several Nutanix cluster components, software components as well as hardware components:

What’s new in Nutanix LCM for Nutanix NX platform:

• Add the ability to update firmware and software versions for the following components (AHV, ESXi 5.5, ESXi 6.0, ESXi 6.5):
  • BIOS G4G5T3.0 (for G5 platforms that use the X10DRT motherboard)
  • BIOS G4G5U3.0 (for G5 platforms that use the X10DRU motherboard)
  • BIOS X11DPT_B: P102144 for G6 platforms
  • BMC 3.56 for G4 and G5 platforms
  • BMC 6.39 for G6 platforms
• Introduced new firmware versions and new hardware models for the following components:
  • LSI HBA 3008 controllers for G6 platforms
  • Non-volatile memory express (NVMe) data drives for G5 and G6 platforms that support them
  • SAS and SATA hard drives for all platforms

What’s new in Nutanix LCM for Dell XC platform:

• LCM is supported for the Dell 13G hardware family on ESXi 6.0 and 6.5.
• Dell XC support requires AOS 5.1.0.3 or later.
• Note: Performing an LCM update on any Dell XC component will power-cycle the node.
• This release adds LCM inventory and update support for the following components:
  • BIOS
  • backplane expander (I and II)
  • HBA controller
  • H730 RAID controller
  • iDRAC
  • iSM
  • NIC
  • PT agent

How to upgrade Nutanix Life Cycle Management

Log in to Prism Element and from action menu (top right gear icon) choose Nutanix Lief Cycle Management. On Nutanix LCM dashboard perform full inventory scan. Once it is done, you should see Nutanix LCM version 1.4 available.

Choose Nutanix LCM version, Save changes and Apply

When upgrade is completed, go back to Life Cycle Management console and check version.
