Shares

Few post back ( here and here ) I blogged out information about vSphere5 license model. After a big wave of critical voices, VMware decide to change vRAM values in the licensing model

Today = vSphere 4.X

Server with 2 sockets and 192G of memory = 2 vSphere Enterprise Plus licenses
Server with 4 sockets and 256G of memory = 4 vSphere Enterprise Plus licenses

Tomorrow = vSphere 5.X

Server with 2 sockets and 192G of memory = 2 vSphere Enterprise Plus licenses
Server with 4 sockets and 256G of memory =4 vSphere Enterprise Plus licenses

Here you can find a link with cost calculation vRAM per GB
