VMworld 2011 – Day 1

Shares

Finally, internet is available in my hotel. Yesterday was a really good day at VMworld. I met a lot of friends from IBM, visited a lot of boots, especially those with Backup or/and Disaster Recovery Solutions, believe me or not but there more really good products ( Acronis,  Zerto) than VMware SRM and Veem Backup for VMware hypervisior.

During the day I take part on 3 Beak-out session:

  1. VSP1999 esxtop for Advanced Users was really good one was worth to go there, VMware introduce several new counters in vSphere 5 esxtop
  2. PMBCO2395 – Stretch Clustering – Now and Beyond – fairly good presentation but I expected it more technical
  3. BCO3336 – DR to the Cloud With SRM 5 and vSphere Replication – Service Provider Perspective  – Suppose to be advance technical level – it wasn’t at all, presenter manly spoke how SRM5 is brilliant, showing some marketing numbers and basically that’s all. I left presentation after 30 minutes

Of course I couldn’t missed Hand-on Labs unfortunately I had a time to get only one lab but it was very, very valuable – SRM5 in Practice
