What is VMware vCloud Appliance
A pre-configured virtual appliance that deploys the vCloud Automation Center server. The server includes the vCloud Automation Center console, which provides a single portal for self-service provisioning and management of cloud services, as well as authoring and administration.
Deployment
- deploy appliance form OVF
- follow the prompts to the properties page
- on the properties page provide:
- hostname
- root password
- networking configuration

Configuration
- Power virtual machine on
- Browse to https://<appliance FQDN>:5480 and log in using root credentials
- Configure time source, I use my internal time server
- On vCAC settings tab type FQDN of vCAC appliance
- Generate self-signed certificate or import signed cert
- Connect vCAC appliance to vCAC SSO appliance, don’t forget to append SSO port 7444 to SSO host.
- Click Services. The following services must be running to log into the console. They usually start in about 10 minutes.

- plugin-service
- Assign valid license
vCAC appliance is configured and ready for next part of deployment.
