Deploy Windows 2022 on Nutanix AHV
NOTE: as of today (September 16’th 2021), Windows 2022 is not officially supported on Nutanix. Check the Nutanix support page for the latest updates (link to compatibility matrix is at the bottom of the blog post).
First what you have to do is configure VM with 2 CDROMs. One CDROM for Windows 2022 ISO and a second CDROM for virtIO drivers. Add at least one SCSI drive (for guest OS).
NOTE: Nutanix virtIO package does not have dedicated Windows 2022 drivers but you can use drivers for Windows 2019
Power VM on and follow Windows installation wizard. If you want to see the deployment process in detail, check out my youtube channel for the video.
